I believe that it is essential to expand the presence, visibility, and roles of women in our scientific and professional community as well as in IEEE. First of all, they are still not present in the engineering profession and in the various roles as they are in the overall workforce and the society worldwide. Second, diversity of views and thinking are essential to see problems and opportunities in a more holistic way and find better approaches.
With our extraordinary people, I will focus on creating a personalized offer for every industry professional so that IEEE be a unique comprehensive experience for her/him. Specifically, listening to people in each geographical area, analyzing the local needs, and identifying effective solutions all together, I will work with all Boards and organizational units catalyzing our efforts in five main areas:
IEEE is the leading association in science, technology, and innovation in our field, thanks to the extraordinary competences, efforts, and dedication of the many outstanding volunteers and staff. To continue to be the premiere reference in the world, we should timely identify and address all needs of our scientific and professional community, supporting scientific, technological, industrial, economic, and social development for the benefit of humanity.
Mutual understanding and cooperation have been shown an essential way to ensure effective and efficient action as One IEEE. This approach strengthen bonds, improve effectiveness, enhance knowledge dissemination, expand people networking, support interdisciplinary areas, increase service/product users, reduce duplications, and reduce expenses.
